Organising a funeral

Making plans for your own funeral

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present, nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’ Romans 8:38-9

Christians believe that when we die, God promises that we will be with him in a place where we no longer suffer pain and tears are no longer shed.
No matter how some one has died we believe that words of hope are a great comfort to those who attend a funeral.

When those we love die, it hurts because we cannot see them anymore,
but Christians believe that through the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ we will get to see that person again.  It might be in a different way and a different form but that is the Christian hope that all who attend a Church of England Funeral will have. We’ll always be here to help you through one of life’s most difficult times. A Church of England funeral is available to everyone, giving support before, during and after the service, for as long as it’s needed.
Each person is unique – in personality and in life experience. A Church of England funeral allows you to give thanks for the unique person you knew and loved in a way that gives comfort and hope.

To discuss a funeral at one of the Masham Group of Churches, please contact the Curate, Rev'd Sian Lawton.
